Event description

Woodblock printing is one of the oldest printmaking methods, used in Ancient China and Japan for both printed text and art. It's also a fun technique - the more rugged cousin to linocut printing.

Printing with the woodblock technique means you'll be carving your design into a soft tile of wood which becomes your printing plate. Experiment with your design and work with the wood grain to create bold designs that convey the unique materials.

It's not too tricky, but having some guidance, tips and tricks to help you along the way can really make all the difference. So come along and create your own woodblock prints with Tish.
