    Explore the icy realm above and below the surface as we take a glimpse into one of the most remote locations on the planet.

    Antarctica is a fragile environment with some of the most diverse inhabitants on the planet. Take a journey to Antarctica through the eyes of international award-winning wildlife, nature, and underwater photographer and film maker Scott Portelli

    Scott has spent more than a decade working in the polar regions and shares his experiences, and photographic insight, showcasing his amazing work and passion for Antarctica.

    Learn about the challenges of photographing in the harsh polar environment and hear what its like to submerge yourself in the icy Southern Ocean to photograph the underwater world.

    Scott reveals the essence of Antarctica’s unique wildlife, stunning colours and dramatic environment through his photography and knowledge of this truly magnificent continent.

    About Scott

    Scott Portelli is an international award-winning wildlife, nature and underwater photographer and film maker. Scott is based in Sydney, Australia, and has spent thousands of hours in remote locations across the globe filming and photographing wildlife, the natural environment, and wild places with a focus on conservation, education, and awareness.

    He was announced the winner in the Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year 2021, and has previously been awarded in the animal behaviour category in 2017 and 2019. He has also been awarded at the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year in London in 2016 and 2022 and was announced National winner of the Sony World Photography awards 2016. More recently he was awarded 1st place with Team Australia at the World Photographic Cup 2021, overall winner at the Bio Photo Contest 2021 and category winner at the prestigious GDT Nature Photographer of the Year 2021.

    Working in extreme conditions, Scott’s practices take a high quality, low impact, approach to filming wildlife in their natural environment in a non-invasive way to capture natural behaviour. His continued work to highlight the environmental issues in these regions and document the ongoing plight of climate change and human impacts on inhabitants of these regions is a key aspect of his work and various accolades.
