Event description

~ We acknowledge the Turrbal & Yaggera people as the Custodians of Meanjin — the land on which this event will take place. We pay our respects to their connection to country & waters, their ongoing resistance since 1788, their ancestors and their elders past, present & future. We invite First Nations patrons to hit us up at A Love Supreme and you will be taken care of. ~

After another roller coaster of a year delivering countless ups and downs, highs and lows, ebbs and flows, we are wishing for an easy breezy 2022. After bumping our heads together we thought the best way for us to ring in the new year was to throw a big party and hope for the best. A Love Supreme are getting together with Echo & Bounce to bring you an international double header featuring Bradley Zero and Ruby Savage! It’s been a minute since we’ve had the pleasure of artists abroad performing in Boomtown and couldn’t be happier to be doing it again.

Stunting as the label head of Rhythm Section International, resident broadcaster and worldwide renowned DJ, Bradley Zero has built a reputation and unique role for himself in an ever volatile world of music. Hailing from London, he started the Rhythm Section institution with a radio show back in 2009 in Peckham. The broadcast naturally translated to a fortnightly dance at Canavan’s Peckham Pool Club, quickly becoming a firm fixture in London’s clubbing scene. As his work building Peckham’s club culture foundation was recognised, Bradley was enlisted as a core programmer and host of the Boiler Room when the platform was still in its infancy and Bradley helped shape it into the world conquering institution that it is today. In 2014 Rhythm Section INTL became a label with its first release, Al Dobson Jr’s Rye Lane Vol. 1 and it hasn’t looked back. Soon after the label was nominated for Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards ‘label of the year’ and took off releasing on a global scale and launching the careers of multiple artists around the world.

Now a household name in dance music across the globe, it’s Bradley’s infectious love for music, a passion for dancing, an urge to discover and a need to share this with the world that makes him a vital selector and tastemaker in 2022.

Raised on a mantra of “freedom, healing, peace and power in music,” Ruby Savage is a London based Music & Culture Curator who brings a special kind of affirmative energy to creative projects she gets involved in. Ruby has a BA in Production Design at the Dutch Film & Television Academy and an MA in Photography and Urban Culture at Goldsmiths University + a stellar dance floor track record, granting her a unique compass that lets her connect the spiritual dots between music, culture, community and art. Whether she is heartbeat matching with a dance floor from the booth or her commitment to making the dancefloor and creative industry a safer space, fun and comfort are at the centre of what Ruby does. A worldwide touring DJ, radio host, campaigner and artist with a cross-genre output, she is indeed a self-proclaimed “babe of all trades.”

Ruby launched the ‘Artist Recovery Club’ at the tail end of 2020, as a response to the pandemic’s relentless ripple stretching across creative communities leaving many lost for inspiration, connection and hope. The club facilitates creative healing, artistic discovery plus support network through an online course based on Julia Cameron’s cult classic self help book The Artist’s Way. The club has since grown into a wider platform also taking place in real life for like minded people to connect, inspire, and gently challenge and unblock their inner artist. Ruby is also the creator of Don’t Be A Creep - an arts initiative that spreads  zero-tolerance policy towards harassment in music and nightlife culture through provocative poster and installation campaigns.

“ For me, the theme is uplifting the culture. When I say that, I talk about Black culture, mixed culture, independent culture, independent minds. I think another theme that is really strong for me, and something that I'm exploring, is this concept of music as a healer in the wider sense. I think the obvious space is sound healing and New Age music but what I experienced on dancefloors was really music as a healer in the sense that it was a space where I could find bits of myself, release, shake the juju off, feel inspired, meet and connect with people. “ - Ruby Savage

Warming up the Warehouse for these two are Brisbane’s own Dom Bird and Twin Sister.
