A Million Stories of Us creates a welcoming space to listen, learn and connect through honest conversations. Together, we’ll explore what it means to rebuild life in a new country, celebrate the strength of refugee communities, and reflect on the role we all play in creating a more inclusive Australia.

As Australia marks the milestone of resettling one million refugees, this event invites you to be part of that shared story.

Our panel brings together inspiring individuals whose lived experience and leadership shine a light on the refugee journey:

• Nahid Kazemi, who supports newly arrived refugees and draws on her own experience of displacement to help others feel safe and welcomed

• Jamila Alarkan, who rebuilt her life after fleeing conflict and now leads in Australia’s energy sector while championing inclusion

• Johny Adhikari, a human rights advocate continuing his work to support vulnerable communities after seeking safety in Australia
