Event description

A MONUMENT TO TRIGGS TWO is a new large-scale contemporary site based participatory art project by SA artist Henry Jock Walker and local collaborators. The project encourages creative thinking and environmental action through surfing. It will use the iconic Triggs car park in the City of Onkaparinga and various locations across the Fleurieu Peninsula as the sites for a series of public interactive workshops with local surfing, artistic and residential communities.

Workshop - sew sculpt paint talk

Come along and be part of a growing initiative that explores the interweaving of art, surf culture, grass roots recycling and environmental practices. Get involved in making sculptural works using old and unused surfboards. Bring your old surf clothing and take part in transforming them into new garments. Hear talks about local and national initiatives that address ways to develop sustainable practices in surfboard and wetsuit design. Join in as local cars become the canvas to paint, draw and brainstorm a social monument to Triggs Two

NB: Bring your own surfboard only if you are prepared to say goodbye to it in its current form!

THIS IS A FREE ALL AGES EVENT.
