About Takayna:
Takayna in Tasmania’s northwest is one of Earth’s last wild places. It is home to Australia’s largest temperate rainforest, and holds some of the richest Aboriginal cultural heritage sites in the world. But this globally significant region is more threatened than ever before – by new mines, logging, and deforestation for a heavy metals mine waste dump.
In just the past few weeks, bushfires have scorched 70,000 hectares of this ancient landscape.
The need to protect Takayna has never been more urgent.
Join us for a night of music, storytelling, and action in defence of Takayna.
All proceeds from this event will support our campaign to permanently protect Takayna as a World Heritage-listed national park, returned to Aboriginal ownership.
