Find your fedoras and Panama hats, grab a pair of dark glasses, and get ready for a night of toe-tapping rhythms and soulful melodies. 

So come on down and experience the magic of Herbert's Juke Joint, where the music is hot, and the atmosphere is electric!

Julian James, Melbourne, NSW

Julian James is a talented musician who's been part of Melbourne's live music scene for years, even before he was legally allowed to drink in bars. His sound is a unique blend of finger-picking country with a touch of southern swamp. For one night only he is bringing his amazing Americana Hill Country performance with a generous serving of soulful blues, so put it in your calendars and don't miss out! With four well-received albums under his belt, he's made quite a name for himself in the industry. In 2020, Julian won the prestigious Chain award, which is a testament to his skills and hard work. He's also played at some of the biggest festivals across the country and always manages to get the crowd pumped up with his music.

Chris Matthews, Kununurra, WA

Chris Matthews is a unique and talented musician widely recognized as one of Australia's great guitarists. He plays the guitar, mandolin, banjo, and lap steel. He is a gifted songwriter who spends most of his year touring Australia. He averages between 200-250 shows a year and can be seen performing at various venues, including pubs, clubs, and festivals nationwide. He has toured extensively across Australia, supporting artists such as John Butler, Jimmy Barnes, The Hoodoo Gurus, Bernard Fanning, Troy Cassar-Daley, Kasey Chambers, and John Farnham. Through years of dedication and hard work, Chris has become an expert in his craft, delivering outstanding performances from the smallest front bar gigs to the biggest stages in Australia.

Deb Candlish, Townsville, Qld originally from North Carolina USA.

From the soulful stories of traditional blues and roots to tunes like Walkin’ Blues and Rollin’ and Tumblin’ to award-winning originals and blow-your-hair-back stomping sliding swamp, Deb Candlish is here to showcase the Blues from the 1920’s to the present! Debi Candlish is an amazing blues player who has learned Deep Blues through osmosis. She grew up in the foothills of North Carolina, where she was exposed to a musical world of blues, old-time country, and traditional gospel music. Her influences are the great Robert Johnston, Mississippi Freddie McDowell, Son House, Bonnie Raitt, James Bridges, Skip Sail KB. After moving to Melbourne in the late 80s, Debi discovered the thriving blues scene. She managed the Melbourne blues bar Muddy Waters and met some incredible blues players there, including James Bridges and CW Stoneking, who became her musical mentors. These days, Debi is known as the North Queensland's Queen of the Blues and tours regularly in Melbourne as well as up and down the mighty Bruce highway.
