Dave McGuire (The Emmaville’s, Leah Cotterell, Carol Lloyd) is a stunning solo guitarist and highly regarded accompanist. His style has developed over many years of composing, recording and performing music. Most recently you may have heard his captivating lead guitar work on the Leah Purcell film “The Drovers Wife”. He has performed his solo guitar loops at venues and festivals including the Big Day Out, Goleby’s Basement, QPAC Lobby Bar and the Pineapple Lounge. In an age where complicated looping videos are a dime a dozen on Instagram and Tik Tok with musicians often playing several instruments in one performance, Dave prefers to use his loop pedal as a tool to create and explore the sounds of the electric guitar alone...
“After years of playing in blues, jazz and rock bands, I realized I wanted to explore my own musical terrain and create my own sonic landscapes and
the Boss RC 30 looper allows me to do this.” It’s a minimalist set up that allows Dave the freedom to create intricate soundscapes like those that permeate his solo album “Stillness Moving”. Dave’s genre bending performances are an eclectic mix of blues, folk, funk, pop, jazz and reggae soaring beyond the stratosphere before floating back to earth in meditative introspection.
