A night of Resistance
Event description
The #NotOurKing Charles visit to so-called Australia (18-22 October 2024), saw travelling protests throughout his itinerary, from Sydney to Canberra and everywhere in between!
Come and meet Uncle Wayne ‘Coco’ Wharton, Kooma Murri man and long-time First Nations activist, as he talks about Sovereignty campaigns that have connected communities here, with the Kanaky resistance and fight for self-determination in New Caledonia.
The night will include footage from the many actions during the #NotOurKing resistance campaign, set to music by Derek Tipper, artist, editor and activist. Derek will be facilitating the couch conversation with Uncle Wayne. He will also be selling Resisdance Cxffee with proceeds being split between the Kanaky and King solidarity and resistance campaigns, Atfaluna Charity (Gaza) and Community Kitchens for Displaced People (Sudan).
