Event description

Another first for the Australian Hellenic Choir!!

A Portrait of Greece commences with the song Seikilos' Epitaph.  A beautiful melody from around 200BC, sung in classical Greek.  Following this the concert moves into some classic Mikrasiatika songs.

The concert will feature "songs of migration" composed especially for the Choir by Australian-Greek composers that the Choir has commissioned.  These songs will be sung as a world wide premiere at this concert.

Part 2 of the concert moves through the ages to the modern Greek songs we all know and love.  The Choir will perform a number of songs from various genres and from various cultural regions of Greece.

The Sir John Clancy Auditorium is an ideal venue for our 50 singers and our music ensemble.

There is ample free parking behind the Clancy.  Tickets range from $49 to $99.

We look forward to welcoming you to yet another innovative event by the Choir.
