In this presentation, Professor David Gilchrist, foundation director of UWA's Centre for Public Value, will examine the issue of sustainability in community services, why it is important to the Australian community, why we need structural change to achieve it and what it looks like when it is achieved.

Professor David Gilchrist
David Gilchrist is a chartered accountant and Fellow of CAANZ. He holds a PhD from the University of Notre Dame Australia and is currently professor of accounting and foundation director of the Centre for Public Value at the University of Western Australia. Before academia David was assistant auditor general for Western Australia. He is founder of the Australian Nonprofit Accounting Standards Research Program and a member of the AASB’s Academic Advisory Panel, a member of the International Financial Reporting 4 NPOs Practice Advisory Group and is deputy chair of the Chartered Accountants ANZ Trans-Tasman NFP advisory committee. He was made a Fellow of the Western Australian Parliament in 2021 and received a Meritorious Service Award from Chartered Accountants ANZ in 2023.
