A Promise to the Planet

What happens when we move beyond climate fear and focus on hope, possibility and collective action?

Join an inspiring evening bringing together young people, researchers, activists and changemakers to explore what climate action looks like when we focus not only on the challenges ahead, but on the change already happening and the future we can create together.

The evening will begin with a series of short, engaging talks from climate activists, researchers and innovators, showcasing inspiring work already underway to address the climate crisis and protect the places we love.

A panel discussion will then explore the challenges we face, the opportunities for change and how each of us can find our place in creating a better future.

The evening will conclude with a creative, interactive activity inviting everyone to make their own Promise to the Planet — a personal commitment to care for our environment and contribute to climate action.

Each promise will become part of a collaborative artwork, with participants creating a small piece of a larger seascape. Together, these individual contributions will create something much bigger — a visual reminder that when our actions come together, they can create powerful collective change.

A Promise to the Planet is an opportunity to connect, learn, create and leave inspired, with a renewed sense of hope and a personal commitment to help shape the future we want to see.

Citizen COP Australia is a decentralised, people-powered movement running alongside the global COPs in 2026. Enabled by People For Nature, but intentionally independent and distributed, Citizen COP invites communities, organisations, schools, businesses, artists, and local groups across Australia to host their own events during the COP period.
