A PUNK SHOW with 7th Victim / The Great Cackler / Alexoteric / Kyle Press × Paul Walker
Event description
More than a genre, punk has always been an ethos of exploding art out into new territories. When it all starts sounding the same, some would argue that it is no longer "punk" while others would argue that arguing against the rigidity of punk is no longer punk... Anyway, the artists performing on April 26 do not sound like anyone else. There will be synthesizers and saxophones and acoustic guitars and space poetry. It is a punk show and you can come check it out.
WHO'S PLAYING:
7th Victim is the light darkwave project of Rodney Anonymous (The Dead Milkmen) and Janet Bressler (Sister Platypus). Hear them on Bandcamp.
West Philly folk outfit The Great Cackler (fka Geb The Great Cackler) are the duo of Justin Duerr (Northern Liberties, Hex Nine, et al) and Mandy Katz (Invasive Species, Beware The Blunted Needle, Vulgar Remedies, etc). This video might contains clues as to what they are up to.
Polymath artist/author/poet/musician Alex Smith performs solo as Alexoteric. Here's one album by Alex that you can listen to right now.
Synth-n-sax duo Paul Walker × Kyle Press return too. Here's their recent tape.
Studio 34 is a mixed-use yoga/healling/arts venue. We are a sober space with hot tea on the house. See you at the show!
