A Queer Medieval Faire 2023

This event is held on stolen land, the land of the Gadigal people. Sovereignty was never ceded and the struggle of First Nations people is ongoing with invasion and genocide continuing to this day. We acknowledge the Gadigal people as the custodians of this land and pay our respects to elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal people. Stories have been shared on this land for some 80,000 years and we are honoured to share our stories here today.
A Queer Medieval Faire is back with more fantasy, more interactive play, more immersion, and more gay! Step into a realm where our shared queer histories and fantasies, extending beyond the Anglo-sphere converge in a church transformed into a Medieval market square. With stalls, interactive experiences, workshops, and trade quests, this event is like a real-life Medieval fantasy RPG. Featuring live music, immersive theatre, dancing, drag, and a peep show at night for 18+.
While the last event was set up more as a cabaret show with a social element, this event is a completely interactive experience that transforms as the day turns to evening and evening turns to night. You can show up at anytime and whether you stay for a couple hours of for the entire duration, you will have a completely unique experience. Amazing prizes for best dressed!
This event is BYO with refreshments and food available. The venue is accessible via wheelchair, however the toilets are not properly fitted. Access video will be uploaded here soon. There will be safety wardens on site, and a quiet space.
No one is turned away due to lack of funds. Please contact Marlena here or on Facebook or Instagram if you would like to go but cannot afford the ticket.
The tickets are priced as they are to pay for all the artists, the venue, decor, and a smoking ceremony. The producers only make money if there is any left over after all costs are covered. This is a passion project, and your support keeps us going! We are not backed by any government grants or corporate sponsors, this is paid for by Marlena Dalí with assistance from Dyan Tai and James Shepherd. We are sponsored with donations from queer owned businesses for our prizes.
