Event description

Having achieved so much in this past year, the Hills & Fleurieu Local Food Futures project have an exciting and crucial next step and invite you to help inform the call to action for a regional food plan.

This workshop on Peramangk country will begin by highlighting the outcomes of the project thus far, with a special focus on how collaboration with all three First Nations: Kaurna, Peramangk and Ngarrindjeri has culminated in a First Nations advisory group that recognises the deep knowledge of Indigenous land stewardship and sustainable food practices that is key to the future of the project and the plan.

Hear from local farmer Ben Ryan, owner of Tent Rock Farm, Deep Creek and his perspective from over 30 years of regeneratively farming and what he sees as the key needs and opportunities.

And then finally an opportunity to hear what is happening nationally around regional food plans, and contribute to what a regional food plan would mean for the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu.

A workshop to be inspired, contribute and most of all take action - our future needs a resilient local food system - join us in being part of this reality!
