What does it mean to be a man today?

It's a question many struggle to answer. The old scripts: provider, protector, don't show weakness, go it alone, etc., don't align to modern life the way they used to. And there are new scripts that are often confusing, contradictory, or missing entirely. Most men want to be the best versions of themselves, but are navigating this without a map.

Plenty have talked about toxic masculinity, but few have been clearly defining what healthy masculinity looks like. That absence has consequences for men, for their relationships, for workplaces, and for society. The "manosphere" rushed in to fill that gap. This workshop exists to offer something better.

This free 60-minute workshop is about defining modern masculinity clearly: what it looks like, what it includes, and how to practice it in daily life. We'll move from the problem to a positive vision of what's possible when men show up with strength, awareness, and intention.

How the men's crisis is form of disconnection that affects almost all of us
Why the question matters for everyone, including men, partners, colleagues, and communities
What the manosphere gets wrong, and why men deserve a better vision
What healthy modern masculinity actually looks like: a clear, honest definition based on experience
How it shows up in relationships, at work, and in the world
A roadmap we can use immediately: practices to bring into your life, your relationships, and the men around you

Who this is for:

Men who want to be their best and are ready for a clear picture of what that looks like. Women or partners who want to understand and support the men in their lives. Leaders and managers who want to build environments where men and everyone around them can thrive. You don't need prior experience with men's work. You just need to have a desire to improve our current situation.

Matty Stevenson has been facilitating men's groups in Ventura for nearly a decade. He's the founder of Conscious Ground, an organization dedicated to healing division and loneliness through authentic connection and conscious leadership. Matty brings insights and practices from direct experience with hundreds of men from local community and work. He brings warmth, directness, and hard-won experience to one of the most important conversations of our time.
