A Space Between
Description
We live in a world that is constantly asking for our attention.
The bright lights, the notifications, the endless stream of information. Our families, our businesses, our responsibilities and the many things competing for space in our minds.
Our brains are continually filtering sensory information, prioritising some things and allowing others to fade into the background. But how often do we pause to notice what has our attention, and how we are engaging with the world around us?
With the pace of life building towards Christmas, A Space Between is an invitation to step out of the rush for a little while.
Together, we'll begin by emptying some of the noise from our minds through a guided brain dump. We'll explore what's taking up space across our inner world, outer world, digital world and natural world, noticing what fills us up, what drains us and where our attention is being drawn.
From there, we'll move into drumming, silence and time for personal exploration. An opportunity to slow down, settle into the body and become a little more comfortable with quiet, stillness and the simple act of being.
You might choose to journal, write, draw or explore inwardly. You might simply sit in the quiet and let yourself be.
There is no expectation to achieve anything, process anything or turn the experience into a lesson. Sometimes we need space where we don't have to be doing, learning, healing or becoming anything more.
We can simply be.
What we'll explore:
Where our attention is going across our inner, outer, digital and natural worlds.
The things that nourish us and the things that drain our energy.
Our relationship with the sensory information we take in every day.
Drumming as an invitation to settle into the body and connect with a different rhythm.
Silence, stillness and time for your own reflection or creative expression.
This is a facilitated group circle, with space for individual exploration and optional sharing.
What to bring: A mat and pillow, a journal and pen if you enjoy writing, and anything else you’d like for your comfort.
A little space between all the things that ask for your attention, where you can slow down, listen in and see what emerges when you give yourself room to simply be.
