A Taste of the Netherlands

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Learn to make some simple & delicious Dutch food, then sit down and enjoy it with others!

Your host will be Coby Snowden who was born and raised in the Netherlands but has lived in New Zealand for a long time. Coby looks forward to sharing her culture and cuisine with us. She also has some interesting random facts to share about the Netherlands.

Participants at this event will learn to make Stamppot, a traditional winter comfort food, which incorporates mashed potatoes & kale topped with sausage. And then for a little sweet something, participants will make apple pie and Spekulaas Biscuits.

The emphasis is on easy, simple food - so the event would be great for young flatters or anyone wanting a taste of Dutch culture & cuisine.

The dishes are NOT gluten or dairy free but vegetarians can participate (just omit the sausage in the main meal). To help us purchase the right quantities of ingredients, let us know when booking your place, if you prefer vegetarian.

Why not come along - get some new recipe ideas, learn about another country and enjoy a lovely meal together with others!

Limited to 10 people so get in quick.

This event is one in a series of 'A Taste of... ' cooking classes organised by Keep Learning Mid Canterbury and the Mid Canterbury Newcomers Network.
