Then on to some of Paul Simon's solo hits including Late In The Evening, Fifty Ways To Leave Your Lover, Diamonds on The Soles Of Her Shoes, Under African Skies.

This versatile duo has been performing with Jimjam (now Sweet Escape) over the past 16 years receiving rave reviews at major corporate events to backyard parties.

Jim McGuire studied tenor voice and guitar at Edinburgh Academy of Music and was vocalist and lead guitarist with some of Scotland’s top rock groups before expanding to jazz, folk and opera. He tours internationally as a solo performer and since coming to Perth has played in a variety of popular bands. Jim has directed numerous musical productions in WA and overseas and is currently musical director of The Bay Music Club and Gidgestock Music Festival.

Steve Beckwith is a classically trained guitarist with a versatile country/rock voice and effervescent personality. Steve  also has a long history in music which he uses to great effect in entertaining audiences both great and small. Together with Jim he has recently formed Perth's most versatile multi-instrumental vocal harmony group, Sweet Escape, who will join the duo on part of their performance at The Bay.

Simpson & Perry

Renowned performers Wayne Perry and Ian Simpson will deliver a tribute to John Denver and Gordon Lightfoot in two entertaining sets that will have our audience singing and dancing to the great songs most of us grew up with.

Featuring hits from John Denver including ‘Leaving on a Jet Plane’, ‘Country Roads’, ‘Back Home Again’, ‘Sunshine On My Shoulders’. Great musical memories from the most beloved Singer/Songwriter of the 70s.

Next is a magical journey through the music of Gordon Lightfoot with his first hit in the 1960s, Early Morning Rain, and weaving their way through If You Could read My Mind, Sundown, Bitter Green, Beautiful, Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald and the amazing Canadian Railroad Trilogy.

Wayne Perry
joins his finger style/rhythm acoustic guitar style with Ian Simpson’s blistering banjo and smooth slide dobro technique to bring an acoustic sound only they can.

Wayne Perry, the Travelling Troubadour, has travelled extensively overseas refining his songwriting and playing skills.  His tenor vocals allow him to include a wide range of artists in this repertoire.

Ian Simpson, three times National Banjo Champion, winner of 7 Golden Guitars at Tamworth plus an Aria Award.  Ian has toured and recorded with many major Australian artists including Slim Dusty, Paul Kelly and Keith Urban.

Together this duo bring a wealth of talent and experience to present what promises to be another memorable night of great live music at The Bay.
