A+W Father's Kōrero
Event description
A+W NZ is proud to present Father’s Kōrero, a new event dedicated to opening up meaningful conversations around fatherhood in the architectural profession.
This evening gathering will feature a panel kōrero followed by an open discussion—creating space to explore the often-unspoken realities of fathering while navigating architectural careers. We'll celebrate the important caregiving work that fathers do—work that is often invisible in professional settings, yet crucial to building a more balanced, inclusive industry. At A+W NZ, we champion the stories that reflect positive change. Father’s Kōrero will highlight how shared caregiving can support sustainable careers and healthy workplaces for everyone—from graduates and academics to practice leaders and whānau across all family structures.
Panel Speakers:
Rajan Hira (Chow:Hill)
John Broachchoi (ASC Architects)
Nick Sargent (AUT)
Andrew Burgess (AUT)
Jay Seong (AUT)
Together, our panel will reflect on what it means to be a father in architecture today—how they’re balancing parenting and practice, what support they’ve found helpful, and how workplaces can better respond to growing calls for flexibility, inclusion, and care.
During the event, we’ll be showcasing images that reflect the lived experiences of our panel and community—photos of whānau, tamariki, and the support networks that make this work possible.
This is a free event and open to all. We hope it sparks ongoing dialogue and helps reframe care work as a shared, visible, and celebrated part of our profession.
Drinks and nibbles will be catered for by AUT during this event.
