Event description

Join us for a Listening Pilgrimage to a place of grass roots peace making with people and creationA place where land and waters are being restored and returned to Indigenous people and Settler people are joining in the process. A place where land management and care is a primary redress of past wrongs and we meet as one with CreationA pilgrimage to a thin place in the Celtic understanding, a place that koalas, kangaroos, echidnas, pelicans and black swans call home.

We will be worshipping together daily in the Celtic tradition of Iona with an added Aussie flavour, listening and reflecting with First Nations Priests, local Christian leaders, locals, First Nations leaders and land managers, the Leader of the Abbey and the Leaders of the Iona and Wellspring communities.

We will hear from the representatives of the traditional owners as they intentionally seek to learn from their Elders past. We will hear the story of the Abbey and the Anglican Diocese of Gippsland's faith journey as they confronted the past and their learnings about spiritual connections to land from the understandings of the First Nations people.

Time will be spent in meditation, journaling, an Iona style pilgrimage around the Island and reflective times around the fire at night with music from Cath Connelly, professional Celtic harpist.

COST IS INCLUSIVE OF ACCOMMODATION, PROGRAM AND MEALS
