Dunmoore opens its gates to Vicaraian clans far and wide, as they host a night of revelry and spirituality. This rare meeting of Vicarian clans promises an evening of song, mischief, and ceremony as ancestral ties are rekindled and a new path forward is forged with the uplifting of two Woadens.

Each clan joins in this gathering, Kilkern with their clanless and new controversial god, Hathwoad leaderless and Woadenless seek to upturn the spiritual applecart, Dunmoore with their young Kelda and desires for diplomatic unification. And a new clan; Blachrach, who come from distant lands, bearing strange rituals, who openly worship a forbidden Sidhe.

What price must be paid for renewal?

This night is sacred. This night is yours.
Players will join in ancient ceremonies, dance the night away in a ceilidh, join a talent show, all to help shape Vicaria’s spiritual future. Whether you seek reverence, revelry, or revelation, all are welcome at the halls of Dunmoore.

For the first time ever, we’re bringing you two standalone supplementary games set in the world of A Dance of Ribbons! These one-shot events are designed to immerse you in deep roleplay, with no prior experience needed—just a love of story and intrigue.

Each game runs for 4 hours and 30 minutes in a Parlour/Freeform LARP style, focusing on character-driven storytelling over mechanics. These are perfect for both returning players and newcomers looking to step into our world before A Dance of Ribbons III.

So, what is Vicaria?

Vicaria, the Children of the Fey, the first born, the waiting. Found in the expanding lands of forests, mountains, and bogs, the Vicarians are a hardy group of tight-knit clans. Superstitious and wary of outsiders, the Vicarians worship the archaic and esoteric old gods. They are led by a combined group of priests called Woaden, and the clan leaders known as Kelda. As a people who live by the codes of tradition and spirituality, the Vicarians are constantly negotiating their relationship to an ever-modernising world.

To their west lie the lands of Garmont and the Middlemark, a group of cantons who have warred with the Vicaraians in long history. Their relationship is now stable, and for the last decade peace has been made between the two cultures.

After the plagues of the last five years, Vicaria has seen the arrival of something unseen in remembered history; a living Sidhe, a god walking the material realm. Spotted at the last Dance of Ribbons, the Sidhe came with warnings and blessings. Now Vicaria is taken with spiritual fervor, signs are seen in the most mundane things, and wild unsubstantiated claims are spread about more magical sightings spread across the land.

The Clans of Vicaria

Dunmoore

Dunmoore, the lords of rock and stone, thrive on their mines and hoarded riches. The oldest Clan in Vicaria they pride themselves on being the bastion that stands against Garmontian ambition. Proud, traditional and stoic, Dunmoorians hold their heads high as the most level headed of the clans. Their coffers are rich with abundance, now that they dig with the knowledge that the ancient ancestors are imminent in returning.

Their Woaden has seen visions of fire and steel, and many Dunmoorians are dreaming of seeing the Sidhe speaking to them, especially Lugh. They all end in dark tidings, as if Dunmoore is the clan that can avert a coming doom.

Silkern

No other Vicarian Clan in recent history has undergone as significant a transformation as the youngest of the clans, Silkern. Once a humble coastal village, now a bustling port city, Silkern’s exponential growth is attributed to the Clanless - Vicarians who were exiled for their crimes - who were given a second chance within the young clan as shipwrights, sailors and merchants. As Silkern and the Clanless took to the seas, they began to hear the song of a new Sidhe, The Drowned Queen who, much like the sea, takes cruelty and kindness in equal measure.

Silkern is a home for those who seek adventure and stories. A home for bards, explorers and thrifty merchants. Will the young clan learn to sing the Oldest Song or will its melody drown them out of history?

Hathwoad

Believing themselves to be the Fey’s eldest children, the nomadic forest-dwelling Hathwoads see the neighbouring lands of Garmont as their spiritual inheritance, relying on cunning raids for much of their sustenance. After a series of cultural scandals, including accusations of heretical blood rituals conducted by their late Woden, the wild Hathwoad clan is in desperate need of a new Kelda and Woad to light their path forward.

With the sighting of a Sidhe and the prophecy of the Fey’s return, Hathwoad are now ravenous with spiritual zeal. Hearing that they had failed to avenge their Fey ancestors, they now attempt to find ways to pay penance. Without a spiritual leader this fanaticism has begun sprouting unabated and unguided throughout the lands. Witch covens, spiritual circles, and dark practices have sprung up in the shadows, leading to the spreading of corruption unabated. Even with this darkness, rumour has it that the Hathwoad are resistant to give up this new freedom for a new Woaden

FAQ

How many tickets will I be able to buy?
Players will only be able to purchase one ticket per person. Due to the popularity of our previous events, we try to ensure that the entire event can't be bought and then on-sold. This is by no means a perfect system, but our best attempt at keeping play opportunities as equitable as possible.

Can I bring my Vicarian character to the Garmont game, and visa versa?
These games are intended to be played by the faction they represent. Sadly no player cross-faction characters can go to the other event.

I'm playing a faction in A Dance of Ribbons III, but I want to play the other faction game. Can I?
Absolutely! However you'll have to wait until General Release in order to purchase that ticket. You're more than welcome to attend both events.

Will factions sell out?
Unlike A Dance of Ribbons, tickets will not be tied to faction. This means you will be able to choose any of the playable factions (at the point of ticket purchase) without the fear of a faction of choice being unavailable.

What’s the vibe of these events?
We're keen for these to be roleplay focused. Both events purposefully are set in moments of community gathering/celebration - it should be fun! Your character would be arriving with the same feeling of anticipation! Of course our Story Team have cooked up some thrills and spills, but come with a generous perspective, be led by your curiosity and enjoy gathering with the community!

Will I have to fill out a Character sheet?
For our Supplementary Events players won't need to fill out a character sheet. We encourage you as always when creating your character, to focus on what you want to achieve rather than an elaborate backstory. We're gathering to do things, not to tell people about what you have done. Form opinions on religion, politics, community or family, let these guide you as you create your emergent narrative.

What are the rules?
We'll be sending ticket holders a player primer pack. This will give more detailed lore contexts, our simplified rules and a condensed Kit and Costume guide.

I’m stressed about creating an entirely new kit!
Our intention for these games is to gather together and have extra time to roleplay with each other. The games are mechanics light, and work as an opportunity for player generated story lines to influence our final event. There will also be folks who have never attended a Dance of Ribbons before (fun!) There's no need to stress about having the perfect kit for an entirely new character you'll potentially be only playing for one night. What you come in will be perfect!
