Knowmore is a national legal service with offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Darwin and Perth. Our team provides trauma-informed legal assistance, financial counselling, social support, and specialised cultural support for First Nations peoples. This has made us recognised national leaders in trauma-informed, culturally safe and survivor-centred legal practice.

Our free and confidential service has supported more than 27,538 victim survivors over more than a decade. Initially established in 2013 in response to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, Knowmore has since expanded its work to provide free, independent and specialised legal support to people affected by child sexual abuse and the Stolen Generations. Through this work, Knowmore has developed deep and specialised expertise in trauma-informed, survivor-centred and culturally safe legal practice, particularly in supporting people who have experienced complex trauma, institutional harm and significant barriers to accessing justice.

We have taken what we have learned through this frontline work and turned it into training and resources, reaching across the legal, community and private practice sectors.

We believe trauma-informed, culturally safe practice should be the standard for law and justice-making everywhere. Sharing what we know is one of the most powerful ways we can make that happen.
