Share your favourite “accessibility horror story” (#AccessibilityFail) and let’s discuss how it could have been avoided. This isn’t about naming and shaming; this is about workshopping solutions.

Gather near the green couches in the lobby (Spencer Street Station side). It's a secure building so you'll need to be escorted to our event space. Say hello and get to know some of the other attendees. Send us a message you won't be able to make it prior to 6pm. We will give you a mobile number to call so we come and let you in.

Yes! We love meeting people who want to learn more about accessibility.
Let us help you find out where you can learn more about standards and techniques.
- Can I attend virtually? Will this event be recorded?
This is an in-person event that will not be recorded.
We may host virtual events in future if there is demand for it. But for now, our events are in-person only.
Contact us if you’d like us to host a virtual event.
- Will you have live captions?
Yes! Even though the event will not be recorded, there will be a screen with live captions provided by either Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
- Is your venue accessible for people who use mobility aides?
WeWork is an accessible venue for people that use mobility aids.
There is an accessible toilet on each floor.

- What are the acoustics like?
Builure have booked a meeting room for the A11y Allies to use. This gives us a quiet space to talk where we can hear each other clearly. There is not an echo, music, nor other background noise (such as the 'din' of a pub).
The lobby of the building is a large space, which often has an echo. We're usually the only ones there, so we can usually hear each other clearly for the short time we're there.

- Is this event enviromentally friendly?
It's important to us that these events are environmentally sustainable.
WeWork offices are powered by 100% renewable energy.
Our plates and utensils are either reuseable or made from paper that is compostable. We try to avoid plastics as much as possible. Some of our snacks come in plastic packaging, but we try and use vendors that use compostable packaging as much as possible.
- How do I get there via public transport?
WeWork's Spencer Street Offices are located across the road from Southern Cross Station.
There is also a tram stop for multiple trams outside the building on Spencer Street.
