Australia’s housing crisis is deepening, with skyrocketing prices, limited supply, and growing affordability challenges pushing both policymakers and the property sector to search for answers.

As demand continues to outpace development, it's clear that incremental fixes won’t be enough. What we need now is bold thinking, structural change, and hard conversations.

The Australian Arab Business Council invites you to hear from Australia’s foremost rezoning expert, Dr Shane Geha, as he explores the hard truths behind our housing gridlock—and the bold ideas that could transform it.

Dr Geha brings a rare combination of deep academic insight and frontline experience, having led over 200 rezonings and 1,000 development approvals across New South Wales. His work has unlocked some of the state’s most significant urban transformations—from Little Bay to Riverstone.

This event will delve into the real forces impacting the housing market, including:

Infrastructure bottlenecks and developer uncertainty
The challenge of balancing density with livability
The impact of population growth and migration
Restrictive planning regulations and outdated frameworks
