AACE Youth Workshops WA
Event description
🌟Are you a young person aged 18-25 passionate about creating change in your community? 🌟
Our purpose is to ignite the spark of activism within every young person. With the support of Vic Park Community Centre and Becoming we are committed to providing the necessary support and resources to ensure that young individuals are equipped to bring about meaningful change.
What is AACE? Well it is an acronym for Activism, Advocacy, Community Education where young activists and changemakers will be able to come together to learn, nurture and harness their skills to enact change.
Running every Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM for a eight-week period, this strength-based (free) program focuses on providing participants with:
🔍Tools for Social and Political Change: Understand effective methods for achieving meaningful impact.
🌱Community Building: Connect with a supportive network of changemakers and industry professionals.
🌟Personal Growth: Develop resilience, self-esteem, and confidence to overcome setbacks and thrive.
📣Leadership Development: Gain the skills to stand up for yourself and others while advocating for change.
🌈Practical Life Skills: Connect to activists and advocates to enhance your capacity to lead and succeed.
🌏A Future-Focused Mindset: Foster a belief in a bountiful and beautiful future, empowering yourself to dream big.
Workshops are co-designed and delivered by young people; so whether you have a passion for environmentalism, social movements, media, LGBTIQA+ rights, women's rights, unionism, social justice, feminism, or democracy.. We have young people to share their lived experiences and empower you to enact change on your own activism journey. 💪
At the end of the program, save the date for the 18th of July as this is your chance to pitch your idea/project that you will deliver to the community, industry professionals and funding bodies over the program.
Not sure if this program is for you, or know a young person in your life that may be interested but have some curly Q's please reach out to program facilitator Emily at emilyw.becoming@gmail.com.
