AAEE EGM (Extraordinary General Meeting)
Event description
The National Executive Committee of AAEE is holding an "Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM)" for Tuesday, 25 February, 7pm AEDT, via Zoom. All current AAEE members welcome and encouraged to attend and vote.
The purpose of this EGM is to vote on the following proposed amendment to the AAEE National Constitution, in order to bring it into line with the new ACT Model Rules. You may remember that we made some important Constitutional amendments at the AGM last October, but this final amendment is needed to meet our Constitutional requirements according to the ACT Model Rules which were enacted early last year. (AAEE National is incorporated in the ACT).
The meeting will not take very long - but we do need a quorum for an EGM which is 5% of current membership. We have 508 members so we need 26 members to attend. Please support us and come along for 30 minutes to help move us along to the next stage in the reinvigoration of our national membership!
We will be voting on the change from the CURRENT WORDING to the NEW WORDING to bring us into line with the new ACT Model Rules. Once this has passed, our Membership Working Group, in consultation with Chapter leaders, can implement new Membership Categories and more appropriate Membership Fees for those categories. We need this to happen to expand our membership to include the hundreds (if not thousands) Environmental Educators that are out there waiting to be a part of AAEE!
CURRENT WORDING (from AAEE Constitution updated 2019)
