A very special relaxed performance for SEND schools, groups, families and individuals.
Join Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, Timmy Time, Morph, Creature Comforts and many more much-loved Aardman characters on the big screen, with the music performed live by Carrot Productions’ Picture House Orchestra.
Created in partnership with Aardman for its 50th anniversary year, this brand-new show celebrates five decades of extraordinary British animation, storytelling and creativity. Expect iconic characters, classic comedy and unforgettable music, culminating in a complete screening of Wallace & Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death, with the score performed live by the orchestra.
A relaxed and welcoming performance
Carrot Productions and our Community Interest Company, Open Score CIC, are passionate about making high-quality live music experiences as inclusive and accessible as possible.
This dedicated daytime performance has been created especially for SEND audiences, with a relaxed, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. There is no expectation for audience members to sit completely still or remain silent throughout, and everyone is welcome to enjoy the performance in the way that works best for them.
What to expect
We want everyone to feel comfortable and confident about coming to the performance. Here are some of the things you can expect:
🎬 Aardman favourites on the big screen
Enjoy Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, Morph, Timmy Time, Creature Comforts and more, followed by a complete screening of A Matter of Loaf and Death.
🎻 A live professional orchestra
The music will be performed live by Carrot Productions’ Picture House Orchestra, featuring some of the UK’s finest professional musicians (all dress as Aardman characters!). They will spend time after the performance meeting you and showing you their instruments and costumes.
🎻 Meet Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep
After the performance you will have the opportunity to meet Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep and have your photo taken with them!
😊 A relaxed atmosphere
It’s absolutely fine to move around, make noise, react to what’s happening on screen or leave the auditorium and come back in again if you need to.
🔊 A more comfortable environment
We will make adjustments to help create a more relaxed experience, including keeping some auditorium lighting on throughout the performance and avoiding sudden complete darkness.
🚪 Space to take a break
If anyone needs some time away from the performance, they are welcome to leave the auditorium and return when they feel ready.

- Is the performance suitable for small children?
Is this event suitable for small children?
Absolutely! Aardman in Concert is designed for audiences of all ages, from 3 to 103, and this special relaxed performance is particularly welcoming for younger children.
The atmosphere will be friendly and informal, so there’s no need to worry about children sitting completely still or staying silent throughout. They’re welcome to move around, make noise or take a break if they need to.
With much-loved Aardman characters on the big screen and the excitement of a live orchestra, there will be plenty to keep younger audience members engaged.

Do you offer companion tickets and wheelchair spaces?
Yes. We offer a Personal Assistance Scheme for anyone who requires support to attend the performance. This allows you to book a free companion ticket at no additional cost.
Simply select a companion ticket when booking and bring evidence of eligibility with you on the day, such as a PIP or DLA award letter.

The music will be performed live by Carrot Productions’ Picture House Orchestra, featuring some of the UK’s finest professional musicians, hand-picked from leading orchestras including the Hallé, Manchester Camerata and BBC Philharmonic, amongst others.
Our musicians are not only exceptional performers, but are experienced in creating warm, welcoming and engaging performances for audiences of all ages.
