Join the Heart of the Civil War Heritage Area (HCWHA), Frederick County Parks and Recreation, the Frederick Historic Sites Consortium, and the Frederick County Semiquincentennial Commission on February 27 and 28 for a gathering to view the all-virtual American Association for State and Local History's 250 Con! Learn about national and state planning opportunities, identify actionable ways to participate, and join your peers in generating enthusiasm for this once-in-a-generation event. This two-day gathering will be on Thursday, February 27 (1:30-4:15 pm) and Friday, February 28 (12:00-4:45 pm) at the Frederick County Parks & Rec, Bourne Building (355 Montevue Ln #100, Frederick, MD 21702)- plan to join for one or both days! Frederick, Washington, and Carroll counties are welcome! Find the full 250 Con program here.

For Frederick sites - The Frederick Historic Sites Consortium and the Frederick County Semiquincentennial Commission plan to gather ahead of the 250 Con on Thursday, February 27 and Friday, February 28 at 10:00 am (same location) to discuss the plans of Frederick sites for 2025 and 2026. This way, the group can coordinate and make sure major events are not competing with each other, and share ideas for programming. If you plan to attend the gathering before the 250 Con, please register using this form
