Description

Join us for a book launch for John Kearns's new novel Abaton, with dramatic and musical performances by Annalisa Chamberlin and John Paul Skocik, and a closing song by Mary Courtney.

A finalist in the 2026 William Faulkner competition in New Orleans, Abaton recounts the Orpheus-and-Eurydice dream journey of would-be musician Roy G. Biv, who searches for his wife in an underground labyrinth and meets mythological characters from around the world who retell their stories in unexpected modern forms.

Novelist Kathleen Donohoe describes Abaton as "Beautifully written, with equal measures of humor and heart, the novel is a remarkable feat of tenderness and imagination."

Admission: $30 includes a signed copy of Abaton and the evening's performances
