ABLAZE - Parish Renewal Conference
Event description
We are excited to announce that the Ablaze Parish Renewal Conference is happening on Friday 4th November (evening) and Saturday 5th November 2022
The inaugural Ablaze Conference was held in 2017 and this was an amazing two days together that provided a key focal point and impetus for evangelisation in the Diocese. With the appointment of Bishop Michael, it is a great opportunity to gather with him at Ablaze 2022 as we continue to build on our journey of parish renewal and our call to mission and faith in Christ
Our Focus: The focus for Ablaze will be around our three diocesan priorities; Growing in Holiness, Strengthening our Faith Community and Proclaiming the Good News. We have taken a guiding scripture from the homily of Bishop Michael at his Installation as the Bishop of Christchurch when he spoke about “Putting out into deep water and pay out your nets for a catch” (Luke 5:1-11).
We have a great lineup of Keynote Speakers:
• Bishop Michael Gielen - 11th Bishop of Christchurch
• Anna Stuart - Director of Global Operations with Divine Renovation Ministry, a parishioner and chair at Saint Benedict Parish Council, Halifax
• Fr Chris Ryan MGL - Parish priest of St Declan’s, Penshurst and our Lady of Fatima, Peakhurst in the Sydney Archdiocese. Fr Chris is passionate about the need for parishes to be evangelising communities.
More information about the keynote speakers can be found on the Ablaze website www.chchcatholic.nz/ablaze
During our Conference, you can expect to be inspired by the keynote speakers, be provided with tools for mission through the high-quality workshops and experience times of prayer and liturgy. Ablaze will include a youth ministry leaders stream and we will be supported by speakers from Divine Renovation.
Registrations close at 5pm on Tuesday 1 November (unless sold out prior - spaces are limited)
