Thu, 25 Sep, 9:30am - 4pm ACST

Event description

This training is not simply a session on cultural awareness—it is the foundational stage of a culturally grounded, pedagogically rigorous, and deeply relational learning journey designed to transform the way you understand, engage with, and support Aboriginal learners.

Through this training you will:

  • Begin to understand Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives on history, culture, and society
  • Recognise the impact of colonisation on learning, wellbeing, and trust in institutions.
  • Begin identifying your own cultural lens, point of view and unconscious bias
  • Gain language and confidence to engage respectfully with Aboriginal learners
  • Be introduced to the concepts of Doing and Being to support the next steps in your Aboriginal cultural capability learning journey.

Following the training, you’ll be invited to join a yarning circle to share how your practice has been changed, and ideas for the future.
