Aboriginal Cultural Workshop (13:30)

Join Koori Kinnections to learn about Aboriginal Culture in and around The Coal Loader

This workshop and tour is suitable for all abilities, adults and children alike, but have a child-friendly (12+) focus. All children must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. Due to COVID restrictions, only ticket holders may participate. 

The program will include 4 components:

• a 'hands-on' session with traditional Aboriginal tools, weapons and resources.

• visit an Aboriginal rock engraving site (heritage)

• visit the Bush Tucker garden (learn about traditional and contemporary uses of native plants)

• Guided walk to the harbour look-out with stunning harbour views (learn about the traditional use of waterways, resources gathered from the harbour, local Aboriginal history and significance of Sydney's harbour islands)

If the weather is deemed unsuitable, the tour will be replaced with an indoor activity session.

Tours leave from outside The Coal Loader, 2 Balls Head Drive. Look for the tour sign.

All physical abilities are welcome as the site is fully accessible.

Please do not attend if you are suffering any COVID-19 related symptoms.

Booking essential – limited to 15 places for each group only! We cannot take drop-ins on the day and all participants must be registered with their own name and contact details.

Cost: $0 to take part however ONLY book if you can make it.

COVID-19 Advice: If you are feeling unwell at all in the lead-up to the tour, please cancel your ticket (link on your receipt) to pass your spot to the next waiting.

Please do not book in for the class if you are in an at-risk category or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 within the past 21 days.

Please keep 1.5m distance from other guests and the tour guide on the day.

What to bring:

BYO keep cup and reusable water bottle etc.

In the case of wet weather, indoor activities may replace the outdoor tour.
