If you work with Aboriginal people, this training is for you! You will develop a strong understanding of the health system, health rights and how to advocate and support Aboriginal people in this system, in a practical way. Add another tool to your toolkit.

This full day workshop was developed in partnership with leading Aboriginal health, health advocacy and human rights organisations to develop the skills of the community, community service and health sectors and to increase the availability of health advocacy to Aboriginal people. Our aim is to see health rights knowledge, advocacy skills and an understanding of the impacts of racism and culturally inappropriate care on Aboriginal people and communities, increase - leading to better health outcomes for Aboriginal people.

This training is held in person at the Health Consumers' Council offices in Mount Lawley

Understanding the WA health system
Health rights
Advocacy skills
Conflict of interest
Vicarious trauma
How, when and to who to refer
