Bedford Park SA, Australia
Event description
Join us for a hands-on spear making workshop led by our Kaurna facilitator using traditional techniques and modern resources.
Together we’ll learn the ancient method of spear making, from selecting and shaping local materials, to carving and finishing your own traditional tool. Along the way, you’ll gain knowledge about the significance of the spear, its role in hunting, survival, and ceremony, and the deep respect that Kaurna people hold for natural resources. Your finished spear will be a decorative piece to keep.
Suitable for adults. Participants will be required to sign a safety agreement in order to participate. All materials provided.
