Fri, 28 Nov, 6pm - 7:30pm AEDT

Event description

“Nothing about us, without us…” After discussions with the local community, the decision was made to intentionally bring more Aboriginal Traditional Healing techniques into the hospital.

It is our absolute pleasure to invite the local First Nations and non-First Nations community, patients, family and staff members to experience the profound impact that Yidaki healing songs can have on the mind, body and spirit.

Performer: Gene Kelaher (Ngiyampaa Nation)

What to bring: An open mind and your own mat, towel, or blanket for comfort (you have the option to sit on a chair or lay flat on the ground for this experience).

Time: 6pm-7:30pm

Dates: The last Friday of every month

Where: The Chris O’Brien Lifehouse Living Room Atrium on the Ground Floor (walk through the main entrance on Salisbury Rd and follow the signs to the Living Room Atrium)

119-143 Missenden Rd, Camperdown NSW 2050

We would like to acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional owners of the land on which we meet: the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. It is upon their land that Chris O’Brien Lifehouse was built. As we share our knowledge, teaching, learning and practices within the hospital, may we also pay respect to the knowledge embedded forever within the Aboriginal Custodianship of Country.
