In recent years, A Colourful Storm has established itself as one of the most unique and forward-thinking labels in the country. The man responsible, Moopie; a Beijing-born, Melbourne based DJ.
Via his eclectic and daring sound, he connects strands from the far corners of electronic music history and pushes them forward alongside contemporary and unreleased cuts: this open-minded approach can be heard on dancefloors at festivals such as Berlin Atonal, Sugar Mountain, Pitch, Meredith, Inner Varnika and clubs such as Kantine am Berghain, Tresor and Globus.
A Colorful Storm was the first to champion breakout artist Mark (aka Klon Dump) while introducing Christoph de Babalon to a new generation of fans.
Moopie’s vision as a DJ is inextricably linked to the development of his label. A platform for new and emerging artists to give new life to forgotten classics.

Barney Kato, a veteran selector who has maintained a powerful presence in the Australian dance music scene for almost 15 years. Through an encyclopaedic music knowledge, his style combines classic dancefloor elements with cutting edge new sounds.
His recent production collaboration Barney In The Tunnel with Sydney producer Tunnel Signs has been well supported in Europe with their debut release being played by the likes of Gerd Janson, Skatebard, Special Request, Lauer, Massimiliano Pagliara, Eluize and many more and was also licensed to soundtrack an ad campaign for Pandora.
Having played Australia's best night clubs and festivals such Subsonic, Lucid, Hopkin's Creek, People's Club, Heavenly, Vibe Positive, Lost Paradise, Yours and Owls and Splendour In The Grass, Barney is perfectly suited to close out the show.
