Angels in America: Millennium Approaches is the first part of Tony Kushner’s Pulitzer Prize-winning epic that explores politics, identity, and the AIDS crisis in 1980s America. Set in New York City, the play follows a diverse cast of characters—including a gay couple grappling with illness and separation, a closeted Mormon lawyer and his wife, an 'ex-ex' gay Black drag queen, infamous lawyer Roy Cohn and the ghost of Ethel Rosenberg—as their lives intersect in unexpected, magical, and heartbreaking ways. Blending sharp wit, raw emotion, and supernatural visions, Angels in America is a bold and haunting meditation on love, faith, politics, religion and the end of the 20th century.
