Academy Live! October with Garth Thomas
Description
Join us this October for Academy Live - at Old Government House in Parramatta Park!
Members of our WestWords Academy, alumni and current, will perform excerpts of their new poetry and prose. Members of the public are welcome to come along and hear Western Sydney's rising artists.
Drinks and finger food provided.
6pm door for a 6.30pm start.
Host for the evening, and the event's featured performer is Garth Thomas.
Garth Thomas spent 35 years at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation working in news and current affairs (winning several awards including an Ellie Award), but now in retirement wants to tell his own stories. He resides in Carlingford, New South Wales, with no dogs, no cats, no goldfish, but two wonderful daughters who have come to appreciate spooky old movies starring Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi … much in the same spirit (pun intended) as The World of Alison Tuesday.
Copies of She Walks With Ghosts will be available for purchase followed by a book signing by the poet.
