Why this exists?

Rolling crises are becoming  normalised. In this context, our mind can easily tip into despondency or cynicism. And yet the only constant is change, and the future is unwritten. Bildung Breakfast takes a leaf from history and calls on thinkers, makers and doers to gather — not to find answers, but to live the questions. How do we hold optimism in difficult times? What ideas, and what people, can unite rather than divide us? What kind of future inspires courage, and a peaceful transition towards it?

Inspired by the Nordic folk school tradition, and by friends at the International Futures Forum in Scotland, this three-part breakfast series is not a presentation or a networking event — it's a space for connection and ideas, held over a shared table. Because hope is a renewable resource. And because coming together for enlivening conversation and meaning making is how humans support each other to do more than anyone can do alone.

Who is this for?

This is for educators, thinkers, doers, makers and leaders who are hungry for inspiration and what to inspire others to grow.

What you'll experience

We gather at Grounded one Friday each month to break bread with other curious minds, experience the power of deep listening, and share the questions that are alive in you. We invite people who are trying to make a difference in the face of all that stands in the way of making a difference. People who are ready to live the question rather than impose their answers. Expect convivial conversation, unhurried connection, and a table of about 10 people of diverse walks of life. This will be a space to water the seeds of potential, peace and purpose. To remember that our bread and coffee contains the wonders of the universe.

House keeping

The event is free but please only register if you are confident you will attend. We only have 10 seats and want to ensure each seat is filled. Please arrive between 7:55-8am to order coffee and food (if you wish) and the formal opening will start at about 8:05am. We will wrap up by 9:30am. The food is a little limited, so if you want to eat before or after you come, that might work for you.

It will be appreciated if you can make at least 2/3 of the conversations so we create a continuity and community.
