Academy X - Real Talk

Join us on the first day of the 50th Tamworth Country Music Festival for an intimate and interactive in-person event, presented by The CMAA Academy Of Country Music.

Academy X - Real Talk will delve into alternate sources of income, such as grants and awards, and how to best prepare and apply for these. There will also be a panel discussion on defining your goals, budgeting and fee structure with the view to booking gigs and festivals. Attendees will hear "real talk" from our special guests, Andrew Swift and Melanie Dyer, with discussion from our tutors Roger Corbett, Lyn Bowtell, Samantha Taylor and Rebecca Gracie, as well as enjoy some intimate acoustic performances. The event will be recorded and edited, to be made available online at a later date, as part of our online initiative, Academy X.

If you are a current CMAA Member, attendance will be FREE. Please enter the code CMAA at the checkout however, you will need to email your current membership number to info@academycountrymusic.com.au OR show your membership card at the door to verify this, or else you will be charged full price to attend.

It is a condition of entry to our events that your contact details are collected via our ticketing platform, in addition to the QR code at the venues if applicable. By participating in our events, you agree that all Government mandated Covid-19 rules must be adhered to as per the NSW state guidelines current at the time of the show. These guidelines are subject to change and the onus is on attendees to stay up to date with the current NSW Covid-19 rules and restrictions. If you are displaying any symptoms of being unwell, please stay home or you may be refused entry or asked to leave.
