The Forktree Project Planting Day for Adelaide Climate Action Week

Join us for a rewarding day of rewilding on the Fleurieu Peninsula and help restore biodiverse habitat in this beautiful coastal landscape.

The Forktree Project is working to replace invasive pasture weeds with a diverse mix of native plant species, helping to improve habitat connectivity and support local wildlife over time. During the event, you’ll learn more about the project’s long-term vision from our friendly and knowledgeable team while taking part in hands-on native planting activities.

Whether you’re joining for the first time or returning for another planting day, this is a great opportunity to connect with nature, meet like-minded people and contribute to environmental restoration in a meaningful way.

Event details

• Suitable for all ages

• Site accessibility rating- moderate (no steep hills for today's planting!) 

• All tools and equipment provided (please bring gloves and your own tools if you have them)

• Lunch (soup and bread), tea and coffee included

Planting sessions typically run for 3–4 hours and include a break for a hearty, warming lunch.

What to bring

Please come prepared for all weather conditions, as the weather can change quickly on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Please wear and bring:

• Long pants and long sleeves

• Warm layers and a waterproof outer layer

• A hat or beanie

• Sturdy enclosed footwear (gumboots, work boots or walking boots recommended)

• A spare change of shoes and a bag for muddy boots

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children and ensuring their safety on site.
