ACBD in the Bend
Event description
Join us for an inspiring and practical workshop designed to support community members and local organisations to create positive change, by focusing on what’s strong, not what’s wrong.
This interactive session will explore Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) an inclusive, strengths-based approach that helps communities identify and mobilise their existing assets to lead local initiatives.
Co-designed with community input and co-facilitated by The Jeder Institute and Council’s Community Development Team, this workshop is for people living in the Bend of Islands.
In this session, we will:
Identify local strengths, skills, and resources
Understand key challenges (e.g. planning requirements, permits, funding)
Clarify the steps involved in delivering a successful community-led project
What you'll walk away with:
A clearer understanding of what’s involved in leading or supporting local projects
A shared picture of the local landscape including resources, challenges, and opportunities
Stronger community connections and collaborative relationships
Practical tools and next steps to help bring your ideas to life
Whether you're a community member, volunteer, local leader or simply passionate about where you live, this session will empower you to be part of shaping the future of your community from the inside out.
Please note: there are 2 session times available (1-3pm and 6-8pm)
