Event description

An in-person convening on community health in Fresno, CA

Are you working to improve the health and well-being of residents in California’s Central Valley? Do you want to strengthen your core skills in law and policy, as well as gain strategies and implementation tools to accelerate your efforts?

Join ChangeLab Solutions and local partners for Accelerating Policy Change in the Central Valley — a regional convening for changemakers who want to deepen their skill set for advancing local policy change. The convening is designed for . . .

  • Public health practitioners
  • Government staff
  • Leaders from community-based organizations
  • Health care professionals who work on the root causes of health issues

By participating in a day of small-group activities, interactive sessions, and inspiring panel discussions, you’ll gain more knowledge about . . .

  • Reading and understanding the law
  • Distinguishing between education, advocacy, and lobbying
  • Finding opportunities for community-centered policy change with your partners
  • Identifying who holds the legal authority needed to create change

Strategies will be focused on people-centered policymaking, to help ensure that community members whose health and lives are most affected by policies have a voice in the process. After the convening, you’ll receive a certificate of completion and a resource guide. You will take away next steps that you’ve developed to apply to work that serves your community.

For up-to-date details, check out the convening agenda, event logistics, FAQs, and more on ChangeLab Solutions’ website.

Cost: $60 registration + $3.63 processing fee.
