If you’re interested in accessibility but don’t know where to start, you want to take your accessibility to the next level, or if thinking about accessibility frankly makes you nervous but you're still keen to learn, this presentation is for you.
Increasing accessibility in the arts is always possible- and here’s how. Learn from Arts Access Aotearoa in a friendly, welcoming Arts Accessibility 101 session, geared toward supporting arts sector workers from all backgrounds and experience levels in learning how they can make real and impactful accessibility improvements that can fit into any budget or capacity. Schedule: Doors will open at 5.15pm. The session will start at 5.30pm sharp and take around 60 minutes including question time. If you cannot attend the whole workshop, you are welcome to come for as much as you can. Pēpi and tamariki are always welcome to attend with you!

Arts Access Aotearoa
The workshop is facilitated by Arts Access Aotearoa’s Arts For All Activator Katie Querin, a disabled creative with over a decade’s experience in theatre and arts accessibility. At Arts Access Aotearoa Putanga Toi ki Aotearoa, our purpose is to increase access to the arts for everyone in Aotearoa, particularly people who face access barriers. We work with the Deaf and disabled communities, support a national network of creative spaces, and encourage accessibility in the arts and cultural sectors. We also work with Ara Poutama Aotearoa Department of Corrections, advocating for the arts as a tool for rehabilitation and reintegration. Through advocacy and community partnerships, we champion the arts as a basic human right.
