Accessible Shorebirding @ Nightcliff Rocks

Come along and discover the incredible shorebirds of Darwin’s coastline. We’ll learn about their extraordinary migrations, and contribute to a long-running survey that helps us understand and protect them. You will be joined by shorebird experts who will share their spotting scope and binoculars to give you the best view of shorebirds right on our doorstep! 

Hats, sunscreen and a water bottle are encouraged, as well as enclosed footwear.

This event is beginner friendly and binoculars will be provided.

Accessibility: This small-group, mostly stationary event has been designed with accessibility in mind, with a short, 90-metre accessible route from the car park, seating throughout, adjustable-height scopes, loan binoculars and monoculars, large-format bird guides, and an accessible toilet nearby. No birding experience or equipment is needed, and support people are welcome. More detailed accessibility information will be provided when you register, along with an opportunity to let us know about any additional access needs.
