Event description

Marketing and communications is a key part of every organisation’s operations. And with so much of our lives having moved online, effective digital comms – such as websites, e-newsletters, social media and video content – has never been more important.

What’s also important is making sure digital comms can be effectively accessed by the 1 in 5 Australians who live with disability of who are d/Deaf, a significant market segment for providers of arts, culture and events.

This new online workshop – delivered by media accessibility trainer Bec Hogan – has been developed to specially address the needs of marketing and comms workers in the arts, culture and events sectors so they can improve the accessibility and inclusiveness of their relevant digital communications.

  • Discover practical solutions and ‘easy wins’ for delivering accessible website content and functionality, digital newsletters, social media posts and video content
  • Receive useful resources
  • Learn from trainers with disability who are arts and culture experts

Learn about:

  • Making the user experience more accessible for website visitors
  • Accessibility features in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube
  • How to include captions in videos
  • How to include alt text and descriptions for images
  • Best practice approaches to language, text and emojis
  • Useful apps for making content more accessible
  • Disability definitions
