Accessing Illawarra – Shellharbour City Library

Join KidsWish for a fun and welcoming afternoon at Shellharbour City Library as part of our Accessing Illawarra series — a program designed to help children living with disability build confidence and skills to access community spaces across the Illawarra.

At this event, children will have the opportunity to discover what the library has to offer, including:

🎮 Video Gaming

✨ Magic Table Interactive Play

🥽 Virtual Reality Headsets (for children aged 12+)

♟ Board Games

📚 Stories and quiet reading spaces

🪪 A chance to sign up for a FREE Library Membership

Children aged 5–17 years are welcome to attend, with places available for up to 25 children.
Not sure what to expect? Check out the Facebook highlight video from Term 1.

Families are encouraged to explore the space at their own pace — children are welcome to stay for as long or as little as they like, with the event starting at 3.30pm and finishing at 5:00pm when the library closes.

KidsWish staff and disability support workers will be available throughout the event to assist, however parents/carers must remain on-site for the duration of the event.

Food and drinks will not be provided, so feel free to bring along snacks or drinks if needed.

Please note:

Limited tickets available with a first in-first served allocation.
If the event has reached capacity, you will be placed on a waiting list and notified if and when tickets become available.
If you have registered for a ticket and are unable to attend, please notify KidsWish as soon as possible so tickets can be reissued.
If you register for a ticket and don't attend, this means somebody else misses out and therefore may impact your ticket allocation for future KidsWish events.
