ACE for Communication Success: Email Etiquette

ACE for Communication Success is free to all Adelaide University students by coursework seeking to practise communicating in English in different academic settings. 

This course is offered on campus, in person, and sessions run for 50 minutes.

This workshop focuses on communicating by email with lecturers and tutors using appropriate language, structure, and terms of address. 

It includes: 

• defining and understanding email etiquette and why it is important

• placing your email in a clear context and capturing the right tone

• addressing lecturers and tutors by their correct academic titles 

• beginning and ending emails politely 

• structuring a clear and concise email

• evaluating sample emails
