ACE for Coursework Success: Academic Presentations

ACE for Coursework Success is free to all Adelaide University students by coursework seeking to practise academic skills and strategies to help improve their comprehension and succeed in assignments.

This week's workshop focuses on giving effective presentations. It aims to equip students with the key skills and language to increase their confidence and success in presentation tasks at university.

In this workshop, students will:

• share experience of giving and attending presentations

• watch sample presentations to evaluate their effectiveness according to key criteria 

• learn strategies for engaging an audience and presenting confidently

• learn vocabulary and phrases for structuring a coherent and cohesive presentation

• evaluate PowerPoint slides to identify the key features of successful PowerPoint presentations 

• apply presentation skills: practise presenting on a topic
